Plus Size Modeling Agencies and Industry News And Links

The plus size modeling still has it's share of the misrepresentations but on the whole has a more reputable side to modeling. Despite what unethical agencies tell you, there is almost no market for plus figure or petite models and tend to be done by experienced models who have been in the business for years. Unethical plus size model agencies will often claim to be able to promote you for print work - in fact, print work is extremely competitive and it requires models to fit certain standard sizes and is considered the bread-and-butter of the modelling industry. As with any model, male models and female models alike, it is very hard to get a foot in the door.

What I would tell friend's with dreams, is to locate agents for print modeling in Japan and send them your black and white photos. If they like you they will send you a plane ticket and arrange a place to stay, which comes off your pay at the end of course. Then they will send you out bright and early in the morning to auditions each day.

You may work several jobs or one company will like your look and hire you the whole time. I know many models who have gone a few times and stayed for up to 3 months, made some good money and were able to buy cars and townhouses in a few cases. I would do the same thing as an agent to make my commission but there is no reason why a model, with a little research on google can't do the same. plus size model asian Fashion designers are starting to look more closely at the earning potential from plus-size clothing, and have used plus-size models for their advertising campaigns and catwalks.

The type of work that plus-size models engage in is of comparable variety to that of their smaller-sized counterparts. Advertising campaigns, magazine editorials, catwalk work, garment fit modeling, and live and pre-recorded TV presentations and commercials comprise much of work available.

Please remember this if you are a woman over 5 foot 6 with a well-proportioned body, perfect skin, teeth and hair and you move well and photograph very good, it is quite possible that you could be a model. If you differ from these requirements in any way, a career is that much less likely.
