IMTA Model and Talent Conventions Bad Ratings

imta model and talent convention

There are other modeling conventions like IMTA but if you are involved or thinking of being involved you should read on before you do. I will post links, too many to choose from really but I will put up a good sampling for you to know the truth. This convention is mostly fueled by Barbizon schools as MAAI and IPOP are fueled by John Robert Powers schools. Here are google results to show how serious this problem really is...

NEW YORK POST

Thousands of wannabe stars are forking over up to $10,000 to attend a convention that promises a shot at the big time - and offers little in return, The Post has found.

"I want my money back!" said Amanda Belle, 16, a Chicago high-school student whose mother paid $6,000 for her to attend the International Modeling and Talent Association's New York convention, which wrapped up at the Midtown Hilton last night.

IMTA is one of the most expensive modeling conventions in North America. It costs around $5,000, and that's just to get in the door. It does not include all the travel expenses. Since these events are held for young girls (and boys), they typically are accompanied by one or both parents. When they add up their full bill to include all travel expenses for everyone, it can top $10,000. You need to find out all the facts first, not to mention the feeble attempts to get any work for these kids attending the convention.

Please click the following link to see a previous NBC Today show, sorry there is a 30 second commercial but the video is worth seeing especially if you are a parent. MSNBC aires this every so often but not enough it seems.
