Elite Modeling Agency Stories

At the age of 14, while eating a Big Mac at McDonald's in Sao Paulo, Gisele was spotted by an Elite Modeling Agency agent and was invited to start modeling. Her father was reluctant to let her, but she moved into the city and began shooting. In 1995, at the age of 15, Gisele entered the "Elite Look Modeling Competition" and her career took off.

Now one of the most sought after models in the world, Gisele makes over $7000 US an hour, and rakes in well over $5 million US a year. She has done modeling campaigns for the biggest out there, such as Raulph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino, Chloe, and more.

Gisele Bunchen brought back a sexy look to the modeling world. She doesn't have that lanky, heroine addict look that Kate Moss made famous - she has curves and breasts. In fact, she's even been questioned on a few occasions whether or not she has had implants. She says no, adding that she will never go topless in front of the camera. Chic Happens referred to her breasts as "the most obvious party tits since Tori Spelling got jacked-up."

Gisele has had more than her fair share of controversy while modeling - she has been sued and charged a few times. She backed out of a $20,000 deal with top designer Roberto Cavelli and demanded $50,000 which lead him to charge her with extortion. She once walked off stage of a Helmut Lang show screaming "I don't have time for this shit!" because she only had one outfit to wear. The biggest controversy surrounding Gisele was with John Casablancas, who described her as a "monster of selfishness" who developed "a pattern of constant thanklessness, pushiness and greed" after she left his agency (Elite) for IMG. He also accused her of being a junkie who "slept her way to the top" and sued her for $15 million. Many wondered, though, if his rage was sparked because Gisele would not get into bed with him.

Gisele has been romantically linked to numerous celebrities, including male model Scott Barnhill, actor Josh Hartnett, billionaire Joao-Pauolo Diniz, and Leonardo DiCaprio (whom she is good friends with now). She says the true love of her life is her best friend Vida, her dog.

One last note: When Gisele was 19, she rejected a role to star in the film Charlie's Angels.Share
